📍 Thessaloniki (36€ – Excursion; 26€ – Transfer Only)
• The second-largest city in Greece, Thessaloniki is a historic and beautiful place located on the shores of the Aegean Sea. It is also the largest port in Northern Greece.
• We will stroll along the waterfront, see the city’s symbol—the White Tower, the Rotunda, the Triumphal Arch, and the statue of Alexander the Great. We’ll visit the Church of St. Demetrius, the city’s patron saint, and explore the Upper Town (Ano Poli), where the original architecture and narrow ancient streets have been preserved…
• Of course, there will also be time for shopping and buying Greek souvenirs.
📍 Mount Olympus – Home of the Gods (40€)
• Starting from the town of Litochoro, we will ascend to the peak of Mount Olympus at 850 meters above sea level, surrounded by evergreen trees and the continuous hum of water. Before us, the historic Monastery of St. Dionysius of Olympus will appear.
• For the more adventurous, the mountain trails lead to the Blue Waterfall, formed from the crystal-clear meltwater of Olympus glaciers, which originate from the purest white clouds.
• From the summit of Mount Olympus, we’ll enjoy panoramic views of the coastline and the ancient, fairy-tale village of Panteliemon, which we will also visit.
📍 Cruise along the Holy Mountain of Athos (56€/adult, 50€/children under 12)
• Mount Athos is an autonomous monastic state in Greece, consisting of 20 Orthodox male monasteries. Women are not allowed entry, and men can only visit with a special permit (visa). However, we will have the opportunity to admire this sacred place from the water.
• Our journey will begin in the charming fishing village of Ormos Panagias, and we will take a boat ride from the middle finger of the Sithonia peninsula to the shores of Athos, following the western coast to see the eight major monasteries. We will also catch glimpses of several smaller Athonite monasteries.
• Afterward, we’ll visit the town of Ouranoupolis (meaning “Sky City”), located just a kilometer from Mount Athos. It will welcome us with its many souvenir and church shops where you can buy icons painted by Athonite monks. There will also be time to have lunch in one of the many taverns or relax on the beach.
